Crispy Tofu with Ginger, Garlic, and Soy Sauce

A delicious dish that is sweet and salty with a nice crunch! Try the recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Pack of firm tofu
  • 1/2 cup Corn startch
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 1 tbsp Garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp Ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp Gochugaru or Korean red pepper flakes
  • 1 Chili pepper of choice Jalapeno, Red Thai chili, whatever you like!
  • 1 Green onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Frying oil

Method
 

  1. Drain excess water from tofu
    1 Pack of firm tofu
  2. Slice it into rectangles. About 1" thick
  3. On a plate, add corn starch, Cover each tofu slice in corn startch
    1/2 cup Corn startch
  4. In a small bowl, stir soy sauce, water, garlic, ginger, and gochugaru
    1/4 cup Soy Sauce, 2 tbsp Water, 1 tbsp Garlic, minced, 2 tsp Ginger, minced, 1 tsp Gochugaru or Korean red pepper flakes
  5. On a frying pan, add oil and heat it for 1 minute
    2 tbsp Frying oil
  6. Add the tofu and fry one side for 3 to 5 mintues or until crispy and golden brown
  7. Flip and cook for another minute or two
  8. When both sides are crispy and brown, remove from the pan
  9. In the frying pan, add a little bit of cooking oil
  10. Stir in the chopped green onions and pepper on medium-low heat unitl the green onions are translucent
    1 Green onion, chopped, 1 Chili pepper of choice
  11. Pour in the sauce
  12. Layer on the tofu. Let it seep in the sauce for 1 minute and flip.
  13. When both sides are covered in sauce, turn off the stove and eat!
