Basic Sunday
Once a Korean royal dish, Japchae or stir-fried sweet potato noodles is a delicious side dish to try!

Ingredients
  

Beef Marinade

  • 4 oz Choice of beef
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Mirim or Korean Cooking Wine
  • 1 tsp Choice of sweetner
  • Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Sesame seed oil

Vegetables

  • 1 Bell pepper
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 1 cup Shitake mushrooms
  • 1 Carrot
  • 4 oz Spianch

Japchae Sauce

  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Choice of sweetener
  • 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • Black pepper
  • Pinch of MSG or Korean beef powdered stock
  • 1 tbsp Minced garlic
  • 130 gram Sweet potato noodles

Instructions
 

  • Chop beef into bite-sized pieces
    4 oz Choice of beef
  • In a bowl, add the beef and mix with soy sauce, mirim, sweetener, black pepper, and sesame seed oil
    1 tbsp Soy sauce, 1 tsp Mirim or Korean Cooking Wine, 1 tsp Choice of sweetner, Black pepper, 1 tsp Sesame seed oil
  • Refrigerate the marinated beef
  • Boil water in a pot
  • Chop vegetables into long strips. Set them aside.
    1 Bell pepper, 1/4 Onion, 1 cup Shitake mushrooms, 1 Carrot, 4 oz Spianch
  • In the boiling water, add the noodles. Stir continuously for 8-10 minutes or until soft. Drain the water
    130 gram Sweet potato noodles
  • Add 2 tbsp soy sauce and stir
  • Add the noodles in a bowl and add 1 tsp of sesame seed oil. Stir. Set it aside.
  • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sweetener, oyster sauce, black pepper, msg, and minced garlic. Set it aside.
    1/4 cup Soy sauce, 2 tbsp Choice of sweetener, 2 tbsp Oyster sauce, Black pepper, Pinch of MSG or Korean beef powdered stock, 1 tbsp Minced garlic
  • On a large pan, add cooking oil
  • Saute onions, marinated meat, carrots, mushrooms, spianch, and bell pepper
  • Pour over the sauce and mix.
  • Turn off the stove. Add the noodles and mix.
  • Sprinkle on green onions and roasted sesame seeds.
