Korean Marinated Eggs (Mayak Eggs)

Sweet and savory Korean marinated eggs that are simple and fast to make.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup, and etc For less sweetness, use 2 tbsp
  • 1/4 white or yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 stalks of green onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 3 thai chili's (optional) can use jalapeƱos
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 6 eggs, soft boiled and peeled

Method
 

  1. Boil 6 eggs for 6-7 minutes for soft-boiled eggs

  2. Peel the eggs and place them in a food container
  3. In a measuring cup, add water and soy sauce
    1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup soy sauce
  4. Add sweetener in the measuring cup and stir
    1/4 cup sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup, and etc
  5. In the measurig cup, add onions, green onions, garlic, and chilis
    1/4 white or yellow onion, chopped, 3 stalks of green onions, chopped, 3 cloves of garlic, 3 thai chili's (optional)
  6. Stir all the ingredients together
  7. Pour over the soft-boiled eggs and sprinkel sesame seeds
    1 tbsp sesame seeds
  8. Marinate 4-6 hours before eating

Notes

Consume Korean marinated eggs in 4-6 days
