What is Korean Cheese Corn?

Korean corn cheese is typically served at Korean BBQ restaurants. It’s usually a side dish that is quickly consumed by adults and kids. It’s an ooey-gooey hot plate of cheese and corn doused in onions, butter, and mayo.

It’s also a simple recipe to make! You mix up the wet ingredients with corn and sugar, pour it into an aluminum pan, and air fry it for a crispy cheese top.

You can certainly make this dish on a frying pan. Although it won’t have a delicious crispy cheese top.

Air Fryer vs. Frying Pan

The air fryer will give a crispy cheese topping. It also eliminates the need to use a frying pan and a serving bowl.

You simply pour the mixture into a small tin pan, plop it into the air fryer, and eat it directly out of the pan! Get it here

Additional Ingredients

Adding minced onions elevates the flavor of the dish. Although if you’re not an onion lover, you can opt it out.

Can also try the following ingredients:

  • Diced bell peppers
  • Garlic
  • Ham
  • Carrots

Make Ahead

You can make this dish ahead of time! Just follow the recipe, holding off on the air fryer step. After topping the corn cheese mixture with mozzarella cheese, cover the pan and store it in the freezer. When you’re ready to serve, insert it into the air fryer and enjoy!

Air Fried Korean Cheese Corn Recipe

Cook Time 10 minutes
Servings 2 people

Equipment

  • 1 Air fryer
  • 1 Small tin pan

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Canned or frozen corn (off the cob and water drained)
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp Onion, minced
  • 2 tsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Sugar

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, mix the corn, minced onions, mayonnaise, and sugar
    1 cup Canned or frozen corn (off the cob and water drained), 2 tbsp Onion, minced, 2 tbsp Mayonnaise, 1 tsp Sugar
  • Butter the bottom and sides of the tin pan. Add the remaining butter into the pan.
    2 tsp Butter
  • Pour in the corn mixture into the pan
  • Top it off with mozzerella cheese
    1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Put it in the air fryer at 355 degrees farenhite for 10 mintues

Notes

Eat immediately
Be careful, the tin may be hot after cooking the cheese corn!
