Easy Sweet Crispy Rice Snack Using 2 Ingredients
Ever wonder how you can make your own crispy rice snack at home with ease? Here is a simple recipe only using 2 ingredients!
Jump to RecipeGrowing up, my grandmother made a crispy rice snack. She sprinkled white sugar on top of the hardened rice and stored it in a zip-lock bag for days. As a child, I absolutely loved it because it had sugar! My grandmother made the snack frequently until she couldn’t cook much due to her age.
As an adult, I enjoyed crispy rice with spicy tuna. Although the nostalgic memories of my grandmother’s sweet version brought me to share her recipe with you.
Pro Tips
- Use sticky rice because they mend easier together
- Use warm rice because they will stick to each other better
- If you have cold rice, add a tiny bit of water, microwave, and cook it as crispy rice
- Use a non-stick pan
No Oil?
That’s right! The addition of oil or butter can make it longer to make crispy rice. The rice grains would have to soak up the oil. Don’t worry, if you use a non-stick pan the rice won’t stick.
Ways to Eat Crispy Rice
A crispy rice snack is perfect for a small get-together. While this recipe is a sweet version, you can also add your favorite protein. Tuna, steak, and etc would be a great addition!
As for the sweetener, you can use your favorite! I prefer to dip it in honey or rice syrup, but you can also sprinkle on sugar.
A crispy rice snack is perfect to make when you have leftover rice. I had a ton of rice leftover from a family gathering so just used it to make crispy rice!
