Creamy Tteokbokki Recipe

A great alternative to the spicy rice cake dish! Very simple and quick to make, enjoyed by adults and kids

- 1 cup Fresh or frozen rice cake
- 1 1/2 cup Whole milk Can use heavy cream as an alternative for a creamier taste
- 4-5 strips Bacon, chopped
- 3 tbsp Onions, chopped
- 2 tsp cooking oil (optional) add if there's not enough bacon grease to cook the onions
- 1/4 cup shredded cheese can use sliced cheese
- black pepper
- salt
Soak frozen rice cake in cold water for 10 minutes. Skip this step if using fresh rice cakes
1 cup Fresh or frozen rice cake
Chop onions and bacon
4-5 strips Bacon, chopped, 3 tbsp Onions, chopped
Cook bacon in a pan
4-5 strips Bacon, chopped
Add chopped onions and saute until translucent
3 tbsp Onions, chopped
Add more cooking oil if needed
2 tsp cooking oil (optional)
Add milk and stir
1 1/2 cup Whole milk
Add salt to taste

Add rice cakes and keep stirring
Cook until rice cakes are soft and tender
Turn off the stove and add cheese
1/4 cup shredded cheese
Top off with black pepper
