It’s a great side dish! Perfect those who do not eat spicy food. I personally love this side dish because I like sweet food and potatoes. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.
You can make these ahead of time, store in the fridge, and eat them within a week or so. You can heat them up before eating or have it cold, my favorite way.

Soy Braised Baby Potatoes – Algamjajorim
Sweet and savory crunchy and soft potatoes great to have as a side dish!
Ingredients
- 1 – 1.5 lb baby potatoes size of quail eggs
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 tbsp cooking or rice syrup can use sugar with a little bit of water
- 3 drops sesame seed oil
- 1 tsp rosted sesame seeds
- cracked black pepper optional
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
Instructions
- Rinse and drain your potatoes and remove any rotten ones1 – 1.5 lb baby potatoes
- In a shallow pan, add cooking oil and drained baby potatoes1 – 1.5 lb baby potatoes, 2 tbsp cooking oil
- Spread the potatoes out evenly
- Cover the pan with a lid for 5 minutes
- After 5 minutes, remove the lid and shake the pan to prevent potatoes from burning
- Put the lid back on and wait another 5 mintues
- Repeat the shake and lid on 4 times total or for 20 mintues total
- Potatoes are ready when you can easily pierce through the bigger pieces
- Lower the heat and add soy sauce and stir4 tbsp soy sauce
- Add cooking syrup or simple syrup and stir4 tbsp cooking or rice syrup
- Add minced garlic2 cloves of garlic, minced
- Add black peppers (optinoal)cracked black pepper
- When the sauce reduces, turn off the heat
- Drizzle on sesame seed oil and seeds3 drops sesame seed oil, 1 tsp rosted sesame seeds
